DHA is an important Omega-3 fatty acid. This premium quality vegetarian formulation utilizes a trademarked algal oil which contains DHA.
Solgar ® Natural Omega-3 Vegetarian DHA Softgels contains the important omega-3 fatty acid Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) sourced from plant algae.
DHA is a fatty acid which is commonly found in oily fish. Solgar presents a specially created form of DHA derived from plants, making all the health benefits of DHA available to those on a Vegetarian and Vegan diet. Fatty acids are lipids, the general term for dietary fat. The body can make several fatty acids, however, those it cannot make in adequate amounts must be obtained through the diet (essential fatty acids). DHA is both present in the brain and eyes. In fact the Omega 3 pre-cursor to DHA makes up 60% of a healthy brain and is therefore essential for healthy functioning brains. In the same way DHA forms a big part of the eye tissue and is needed for optimal macular health.
This important essential omega acid is also often recommended to pregnant women as the development of brain and vision starts within the womb and DHA is a critical nutrients for babies’ developing brains, eyes and nervous systems.
Solgar ® Natural Omega-3 Vegetarian DHA Softgels provides 100 mg of DHA, from 300 mg of a DHA rich oil from microalgae Schizochytrium. The daily dosage of 1-2 softgels provides DHA, contributing to:
• Maintenance of normal brain function
• Maintenance of normal vision
SUGGESTED USE: As a dietary supplement for adults, take one (1) to two (2) vegetarian softgels daily, preferably at mealtime, or as directed by a healthcare practitioner.
